![]() ![]() They all expect a tip when you return, but it is not mandatory. It could have been better, like it used to be. He just drove us out and one of the younger guys gave a brief description and then let us swim. The boat captain is usually quite friendly and talkative giving a great narrative of the tour, but this time we had a quiet guy who didn't say much. They let you swim around for about 15-20 mins. It's completely safe and a wonderful experience. I highly recommend swimming if you can as that is what this tour is all about. On the tour a couple guys will be on the boat and will be taking your pictures while you swim (should you choose to). The "bar" at the boat launch is very understocked, basically rum punch with the cheap stuff and nothing else. They have a gift shop there where there were actually some good deals I should mention. Next time I'm going to skip the meal and just go right to the boat tour. I mean come on, they are out of strawberry daquiry mix? And every other mix? Doesn't know what to put with vodka? Seriously? The menu is quite simple and the same items every time I go. There is a fine dining restaurant there, but the bar is severely understocked and the bartender doesn't know how to make anything, or doesn't have the stock to make anything. Should you go? Absolutely, but the amenities have gone downhill in. It is close to where I stay, not too expensive and certainly a once in a lifetime experience that you will never find anywhere else. ![]() Water shoes (only if you plan on swimming …the lagoon floor feels like jello because of the mud)Īdults: $25US (includes complimentary rum punch from the bar)Ĭhildren Under 12: $12.50 (Life jackets are provided if needed)ĭon’t forget extra cash for spending and tipping More They also have a Bar & Restaurant on site as well.Ĭamera – however, photos will not do the experience any justice (Note: take photos with the flash off!) After getting to the docks, they sell the pics they have taken of you in the water (expensive). We (Hubby & I) got a personal driver (Gavin from Gavin Tour Services) we didn’t go with a tour. The water is warm, not shocking to the body. At the end the Captain does some “donuts” in the water before heading back to the dock, so we got to see the water glow in that respect. Our boat didn’t have many participants whom would jump in, so we didn’t get the joy from the water, which was disappointing. Hubby tried snorkeling the lagoon, but said it was too dark to see anything. Note that the water is very shallow about 4’deep, you will be wearing a lot of mucky mud. The highlight of the 45-minute tour is the part where you get to jump out and swim, your body surrounded by bio-luminescent light from the microscopic organisms that live there in the lagoon.
